Budin is a baked cassava (also known as tapioca) with eggs, coconut, sugar and margarine topped with cheese. The cassava cakes in Kalye Budin look the same and almost taste the same. Budin has a pudding-like consistency — some are chewy, others are melt-in-the mouth — and sweet. It is a favorite appetizer, snack or dessert in this town.

Lucban, Quezon is a popular pilgrimage site. Pilgrims and ordinary people from different places come and visit the place not only for its beautiful and sacred garden but also because of its church where miraculous healing masses are celebrated.
Every healing mass is filled with faith and love. The church’s healing priest, Fr. Joey Faller, is testament to the devotion of the faith of the shrine’s pilgrims.
Before climbing the towering shine of Kamay ni Hesus, stroll around the sacred garden first so that when you reach the top, you will be able to compare the view from below. The garden has a very interesting theme, since it doesn’t just make people appreciate the place’s beauty, but, it also wants its visitors to understand the story it tells. The garden is home to parables of the Old Testament, bringing visitors to places like the Garden of Eden, where the fist man Adam and his wife Eve lived after God created them to the famous Ark of Noah.
Don’t forget to eat enough food before wandering around the garden of Kamay ni Hesus especially if you are planning to climb up its almost 300-step divine shrine. They have a canteen located inside Kamay ni Hesus compound where visitors are welcome to eat. The canteen serves Lucban’s famous and delicious pancit habhab and other dishes such as sisig, chopsuey, fried chicken, fried lapu-lapu and many others.

Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon PHILIPPINES
Pahiyas Festival is a colorful feast celebrated every 15th of May by the people of Lucban, Quezon in honor of San Isidro Labrador. It is the farmers’ thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest with a grand display of colorful rice wafers, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts adorning every house in the town. The festival’s name comes from the Filipino terms hiyas (jewel) and pahiyas (precious offering). This feast is an ancient farmers’ harvest celebration that dates back to the 16th century . The highlight of the festival is a procession along the streets of the image of San Isidro Labrador, to ensure the people’s bountiful harvest in the coming seasons. The procession features a pair of giant papier mâché figures of a farmer and his wife. This is followed by the image of the patron saint and his wife Sta. Maria de la Cabeza, who carries a basket with triangulo biscuits, which are given to the children during the procession. This culminates with generous sharing of food among the townspeople.
All the locals’ houses are decorated with agricultural harvest (fruits, vegetables, rice grains, rice stalks, flowers, and ferns) and colorful rice wafers, called kiping. These thin wafers made from rice dough are usually arranged into two or three layers of chandeliers called aranya. The locals use different kinds of leaves to add flavor and color to the kiping. They also produce varieties of tastes and textures by using different ingredients such as kabal, coffee, talisay (umbrella tree), cocoa, and banaba leaves. YAHOO! PHILIPPINES / wikipilipinas
